WI 161 All Out in 36.2 Overs! Matt Henry & NZ Pacers Rip Through West Indies
3rd ODI, Seddon Park, Hamilton – November 22, 2025
Matt Henry 4-43 | Roston Chase 38
New Zealand need 162 to win
The Collapse That Shocked Hamilton
Shai Hope won the toss and chose to bat first on a green-tinged Seddon Park pitch. What followed was a batting horror show that lasted just 36.2 overs.
West Indies never recovered after Matt Henry removed both openers in the powerplay. Ackeem Auguste (17) edged to slip, Keacy Carty was castled for a two-ball duck, and Hope himself fell for 16 – caught behind off debutant Zakary Foulkes.
From 31-2 in the 5th over, it quickly became 95-7. Roston Chase fought a lone battle with 38 off 51 balls, including one massive six over mid-wicket, but once he edged Henry to slip, the tail folded like a cheap tent.
Mitchell Santner 6-0-27-2 – cleaned up the lower order with ease.
Top-Order Disaster: No One Crossed 38
John Campbell started aggressively with 26 off 24 (3 fours, 1 six), but threw it away. Sherfane Rutherford looked dangerous for 19 before chipping one to mid-on. Justin Greaves and Matthew Forde fell in the same Santner over – 95-7 became reality in the blink of an eye.
Only two partnerships went past 30 – Chase and Springer added 29, Chase and Pierre added 19. The rest? Single digits.
